Changing Gears Peer Facilitator
About
Ri is in her final year as an undergraduate! This will be her third year at the University of Michigan. She has been involved in UROP for the entirety of undergraduate career here. She started the summer before her first semester with CCSFP (our program that brings community college students to UofM to research full-time for the summer) and rolled into changing gears for her first academic year. Second year she became a peer facilitator, and will continue in that roll this year. While at UofM, she spent time researching, teaching for the chemistry department, and volunteering with FEMMES bringing 4th-6th grade girls onto campus to learn about science and math and getting do science experiments.
When she can find some free time, she loves playing games (video, board, card, whatever) and cooking together with friends. She also spends a lot of time at the rock climbing gym. When it’s nice out, she loves being outside. Ri likes to walk through the arb and botanical gardens, go camping, and hike.
"I really like the idea of helping transfer, first generation, and non-traditional students. I am all three, and am so thankful for everyone who helped me during my transition to this University, and those who have continued to support me. I want to find a way to help pass that on."
