Health Sciences Peer Facilitator
About
Neffie is a senior in the College of LSA majoring in Neuroscience from the southside of Chicago. After graduating from Michigan, Neffie will take a gap year, and then apply to medical school and graduate school!
Neffie enjoyed participating in UROP as a student because she was able to get advice from her peer facilitator, as well as learn valuable topics like networking, and presenting research. "I enjoyed being a peer facilitator for UROP because I get to give advice to students and be a resource for them if they need help with anything. I also enjoy the positive work environment. I feel like everyone is always having a good time laughing and giggling, while also being productive."
Neffie is involved in Alpha Phi Omega, which is a community service co-ed fraternity, her favorite community service project for this club is Blood Battle. In this project, individuals donate blood to the American Red Cross, to help save lives. Another thing she likes to do for fun, is be a Tour Guide around campus. She enjoys giving tours to prospective students and telling corny jokes that makes all the parents laugh. Whenever not in the UROP office, you can find her in the Hatcher Graduate Library studying.
"When I am not in school, and have a lot of free time, I enjoy reading, eating, watching Netflix/Hulu, and listening to music. I am currently starting to exercise/run, but we will see if I can keep up with it throughout the school year."
