Social Sciences Peer Facilitator
About
Riley is a senior graduating in 2020 with a double major in Psychology and Sociology (with a Health and Medicine subplan) and a minor in Gender and Health. Her senior honors thesis investigates the role of mastery in mediating the relationship between minority stress and psychological outcomes in sexual minorities of color (she's working on a catchier title, don't worry). Her current research interests focus on experiences of mistreatment within medical settings, and she hopes to earn a PhD in Psychology in order to continue this line of research. When she's not stressing over grad school applications, she can be found crocheting sweaters to keep her warm during the winter or watching videos of her dogs (Tuco, Bean, and Jack) and cat (May) back home in Arizona. Although time is limited for students, Riley does her best to squeeze in some baking as well, just so that she has an excuse to eat an entire cake by herself. Having been involved in UROP since her freshman year, Riley loves being a Peer Facilitator and having the chance to share research with other students, and she can't wait to work for UROP for her last year!
