About
Matthew is incoming senior at the University of Michigan expecting to graduate in May 2020 with a degree in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience. Following graduation, he plans to apply to medical school over the summer to begin studying in the fall of 2021.
Matt was born in Detroit, Michigan and grew up in a nearby suburb amd ever since he was young, he has been an avid fan of Michigan sports, particularly football and basketball. Along with his twin brother, Adam. he still closely follow these sports, as well as the other major Detroit sports teams. In his free time Matt plays basketball and soccer and enjoys listening to music.
Matt first became involved with UROP as a sophomore and began contributing to research in C.S. Mott Children's Hospital's Department of Pediatric Surgery and continued working with the department during his Junior year. This proved to be an exciting opportunity to not only learn about a new medical specialty with which he had no previous experience, but also to work with an incredible group of staff, students, and physicians. "I am looking forward to serving as a UROP peer facilitator for the 2019-2020 academic year and hope to help incoming students to have an overwhelmingly positive experience while participating in UROP in a similar manner as I did."
