Research Scholars Peer Facilitator
About
Allison is a rising senior majoring in Neuroscience and minoring in History of Art. After graduating this May, Allison plans on taking a gap year to explore more subfields of neuroscience research before pursuing an MD/PhD. She is interested in both the research and clinical aspects of medicine, and hope to intertwine the two into a career.
She joined Dr. Shelly Flagel’s lab as a freshman through UROP, and continued through Research Scholars her sophomore year. Her experience in UROP helped her foster a passion for research and has pushed her toward a career including research. Allison still works in the Flagel Lab, where she will be completing an honors thesis this year related to the neural circuitry of individual variation in cue-motivated behavior.
Outside of being a peer facilitator, she works for the SLC as a facilitator for Gen Chem. She also volunteer in Mott’s Children’s Hospital and for a club on campus called Adaptive Gymnastics, where she assists children with special needs through a gymnastics class. Allison also leads an art club on campus called MDraw, which helps her make time in my hectic schedule for something she loves. When she has some free time, she enjoys doing any sort of art, catching up on TV shows and movies, and hanging out with friends.
