The Engineering Summer Research Program aims to attract a diverse student body, including women, historically underrepresented students, first-generation college students, students from low-income backgrounds, and veterans. Undergraduates who participate in the program not only build confidence through hands-on research and mentoring but also come to appreciate the benefits of pursuing an advanced degree.

Why did you choose to get into research?
My interest in research comes from many years of curiosity. I've always asked questions about how and why things work, without actually knowing that I was setting the stage for a future in research. The opportunity to participate in the UROP Fellowship Program, automatically caught my attention as it matched perfectly with my academic interests and aspirations. As a Biomedical engineering student I was extremely glad to have had the opportunity to participate in this area of pioneering research.
