I am a doctoral candidate in the Joint PhD Program in Social Work and Developmental Psychology, investigating the developmental shaping of risk and resilience. My research examines (1) how relational and sociocultural contexts influence brain development during adolescence and young adulthood, and (2) how neural processes underpinning risk and resilience shape developmental trajectories of behavioral and mental health across the life course, particularly among individuals facing socioeconomic and educational challenges.
By bridging neuroscience and social work frameworks, my research seeks to advance strength-based, trauma-informed approaches that promote behavioral and mental health equity.
Research Interests: Developmental neuroscience; risk and resilience; social determinants of behavioral and mental health; an ecological approach to sociocultural contexts; child well-being; positive youth development; life-course perspective; strength-based frameworks; trauma-informed practice; behavioral and mental health equity
