Elena L. Pokowitz, M.Ed., M.S., is a doctoral candidate in Clinical Science in the Department of Psychology at the University of Michigan. Her research focuses on the dissemination and implementation of evidence-based practices for the treatment of anxiety- and OCD-related disorders, with a particular emphasis on expanding access to effective exposure-based interventions. Her dissertation evaluates the ACCESS Lab’s Exposure-to-Exposure (E2E) training program, which equips mental health providers across Michigan with the knowledge and skills to deliver exposure therapy and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). To date, Elena has partnered with Dr. Emily Bilek to train more than 200 mental health providers in these evidence-based approaches. Through her research and clinical work, Elena is committed to bridging the gap between scientific discovery and real-world mental health care and expanding access to effective treatments for individuals living with anxiety and OCD.
