Dianna Alvarado

Broadly, my research investigates environmental factors that influence health and academic outcomes among marginalized student populations. Recently, I examined how engaging in protective strategies, such as self-compassion, can help mitigate impostor feelings among racial and ethnic minoritized college students. A second line of my research explores how participation in summer research programs fosters students’ graduate school self-efficacy. Across these projects, I utilize qualitative and quantitative approaches to better understand how academic environments shape students’ health and educational experiences.
