About
The Director of Clinical Training (DCT) works closely with students, faculty advisors, and clinical supervisors to ensure high-quality, evidence-based clinical education and training. The DCT promotes the integration of research, course curriculum, and practica training. The DCT also ensures that the clinical program complies with accreditation standards including the American Psychological Association (APA) and the Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System (PCSAS).
The DCT serves as a liaison with external practicum placement sites to provide students with a variety of practicum experiences throughout their graduate career. The DCT also chairs the Practicum Committee, which oversees the matching of student requests and practicum site openings. Further, the DCT provides direct supervision to students during their clinical training, ensuring students are developing the necessary competencies in areas such as assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and professional behavior.
