According to the Federation of Associations in Behavioral and Brain Science (FABBS), “the purpose of the FABBS Doctoral Dissertation Research Excellence Awards is to acknowledge and honor graduate student scientists who have conducted doctoral dissertation research of superior scientific quality and broader societal impact.” Cassady won the award based on the strength of her doctoral dissertation: “Age-related neural dedifferentiation in the sensorimotor system and its behavioral consequences.” Thad Polk and Rachael Seidler served as Cassady’s dissertation advisors.
