About
Paul works primarily at the intersection of cognitive science and ethics. His research focuses on developing computationally precise models of agency and evaluative cognition, especially by drawing on reinforcement learning models. He also works on philosophy of AI, philosophy of economics, and social philosophy. After a brief stint studying Industrial Engineering in Sweden, he received a BA in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics, and a BPhil (Master) in Philosophy, both from the University of Oxford. He likes jazz, hiking, and desert landscapes (both metaphorical and actual).
