Lorenzo (he/him) is a New York native who has also spent some time on the west coast. Within philosophy, Lorenzo has strong interests in philosophy of psychiatry/psychology (particularly addiction), political philosophy, and ethics (especially of technology and philanthropy). At the intersection of these areas, he has a special interest in addictive structural features of technology and their implications for democratic theory. He’s very excited to come to the UMich Philosophy Department because he believes his interests overlap well with those of his peers and the faculty. In his free time, Lorenzo enjoys cooking Italian food, hosting dinner parties, playing video games, hiking, and making fun of NewJersey/Staten Island. He has a goal of hiking in all 63 national parks, and he’s visited one quarter so far. He also speaks Italian at home, so feel free to chat him up in Italian!
