About
Professor Regan teaches and writes on international trade law, particularly core issues such as the national treatment obligation and Article XX of the GATT; moral and political philosophy, with a special interest in the theory of the good; and constitutional law, concentrating on federalism issues. A member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, Professor Regan speaks internationally on both international trade law and philosophy issues. His book, Utilitarianism and Co-operation, shared the Franklin J. Matchette Prize of the American Philosophical Association for 1979-80. Professor Regan is a graduate of Harvard and the University of Virginia Law School. He was also a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University, where he earned a degree in economics, and he has a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Michigan. Professor Regan began his academic teaching career at Michigan in 1968. He has visited at the University of California, Berkeley, the University of Virginia, and the University of Zagreb.
