Univeristy of Michigan PhD Candidate, Ariana Peruzzi has received a 2023 Charlotte W. Newcombe Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship. Her project is titled, Theorizing Displacement: On Involuntary Migration, Refugeehood, and the Right to Remain. The Newcombe Fellowships are funded by the Charlotte W. Newcombe Foundation. They support Ph.D. candidates in the humanities and social sciences whose work addresses “questions of ethical and religious values in interesting, original, or significant ways.” Fellows receive an award of $30,000 to support their final year of dissertation writing.
