Janum Sethi has been promoted to the rank of Associate Professor in the Philosophy Department, from Assistant Professor. Janum joined the University of Michigan in 2015, after receiving her PhD in Philosophy from the University of California, Berkley. 

Janum Sethi works primarily on Kant's theoretical and aesthetic philosophy, as well as on related issues in early modern philosophy, philosophy of perception, and aesthetics. Topics she is currently working on include the nature of subjectivity and self-consciousness in Kant’s philosophy, as well as his account of aesthetic judgment.
