The English Department and American Culture are the main sponsors of this event, with the Modern Greek Program acting as a co-sponsor. The occasion for the conference is the retirement of Alan M. Wald, H. Chandler Davis Collegiate Professor of English and American Culture. While Professor Wald's specialty is US literature, the scope of the conference is international.
Eleni Varikas will present a paper on the Friday (March 22) panel. Her paper title is " Traveling theories and practices of resistance within a neo-colonial Europe. For a feminism in the plural."
