What is a health issue that you are really passionate about, and why?
I'm interested in medical ethics, especially in ensuring values like autonomy/beneficence and clinical justice issues like high medication costs are thought about in healthcare policy. Having a family where English isn't a first language has shown me how critical it is that care is patient-centered— even in the tough situations that arise in healthcare, providers should be guided by moral principles that focus on respecting patients and avoiding harm.
