What is a health issue that you are really passionate about, and why?
I'm interested in medical ethics, especially in ensuring values like autonomy/beneficence and clinical justice issues like high medication costs and carceral medicine are thought about in healthcare policy. Coming from a family where English isn't a first language has shown me how critical it is that care is patient-centered and non-paternalistic; even in the tough situations and environments that arise in healthcare, providers should be guided by principles that focus on respecting, understanding, and balancing patient needs and desires.
What is a show that you've watched, a book you've read, or music you've enjoyed recently?
I'm currently watching Modern Family (after years of watching through clips of it on reels), I just finished reading Being Mortal by Atul Gawande, and I've been listening to a lot of Mac Miller, Thundercat, and American Dawn.
