What is a health issue that you are really passionate about, and why?
One health issue I am really passionate about is neurological disorders, especially chronic migraines. I have lived with chronic migraines for most of my life, a condition I inherited from my dad and also share with my siblings. Instead of feeling frustrated by it, my experience has actually sparked an interest in understanding the brain. I am especially curious about neuroplasticity—the brain’s ability to rewire itself—and how, through treatment or intervention, we can actually “tweak” the brain and completely shift behavior or perception. It amazes me that by understanding how the brain works, we can help people live better, fuller lives.
Describe a way you implement wellness and taking care of yourself?
One way I make sure to take care of myself is by having intentional self-care days. Sometimes that means staying in, putting away all thoughts of homework, and just watching movies to relax my mind. Other times, it is doing skincare, taking a long bath, or spending time with family—those little routines help me feel grounded and recharged. With how busy and stressful school can get, I have learned that making space for rest is just as important as being productive.
