About
Taylor received her BA with Honors from Gonzaga University in Classical Civilizations with a Latin Languages and Authors concentration and minors in Philosophy and English. She completed the Bridge MA in Classical Studies here at UM before joining the Interdepartmental Program in Ancient History. Taylor's dissertation focuses on Antinous, the deified lover of the emperor Hadrian, exploring how he was received in antiquity and modernity. Her interdiscplinary approach considers the impact of modern historians on our understanding of Antinous in the ancient world and traces Antinous' role in modern queer identity formation.
