Giving Opportunities

U-M History is redefining what it means to “do” history at a top-ranked public university.

We've become a national leader in cultivating work that reaches broader publics, makes a profound difference in the wider world, and helps to train our talented students for the complex job markets of the twenty-first century.

With your help, we can build on this success and offer these programs to every U-M History undergraduate and graduate student.

Your Gifts at Work

Gifts from U-M History alumni and friends supported innovative programs like U-M HistoryLabs, the Reverb Effect podcast, and Michigan in the World.

"Working in the Immigrant Justice Lab was one of the most transformative experiences I had at Michigan, both academically and professionally. ... The skills I developed in the lab were instrumental as I prepared for a career in international human rights law upon graduation."

Michael Russo, Undergraduate Researcher, Immigrant Justice Lab

"Reverb Effect offers a great opportunity for graduate students to think about their research and how to present it in a new way. There are many things that podcasts can do that even a lecture or a book cannot do. It’s a chance to think about how you are communicating with your audience."

Hayley Bowman, Gerald Saxon Brown Digital Skills Intern

"Through the Michigan in the World program, I became a better writer and researcher. ... As an emerging public historian, my experience as a fellow was absolutely invaluable. Knowing that the public was going to read my writing encouraged me to explore engaging, narrative styles of history."

Estrella Salgado, Bentley Undergraduate Research Fellow, Michigan in the World
