Doctoral Candidate in History
About
Broadly, I'm interested in the history of the carceral state, the history of the juvenile legal system, and the history of welfare for children and families during the Progressive Era. My research engages with questions about belonging, discourse, custody, class, race, ethnicity, and childhood to understand the role of legal institutions and of the legal realist movement in the everyday lives of families living within the jurisdiction of the juvenile court in Chicago.
