On May 2, family, friends, faculty, and staff gathered at the Michigan Theater to celebrate the graduation of 114 History majors.
Brian Porter-Szűcs, director of undergraduate studies, and Kate Wroblewski, assistant director of undergraduate studies, served as emcees. William Glover, the department chair, delivered welcome remarks, and Jane Heckendorn gave an inspiring student address to the Class of 2025. Earl Lewis, the Thomas C. Holt Distinguished University Professor of History, Afroamerican and African Studies, and Public Policy, and founding director of the U-M Center for Social Solutions, presented the ceremony's keynote address, "The Grace of History."
Lucy Del Deo and Isabel Hopson each won the department’s Undergraduate Award for Leadership and Service. Professor Ellen Muehlberger received the Undergraduate Teaching Award, which was presented by History Club's Roxana Haste.
