Brad Schwartz (BA '12) hired to work on 10/29 PBS "American Experience" episode.
Brad writes in to tell us:
I'm a recent graduate of the History Department and I did my senior thesis, advised by Dr. John Carson, on the 1938 Orson Welles "War of the Worlds" broadcast, using recently rediscovered materials in the UM Special Collections Library. PBS heard about my thesis last year and hired me to co-write an upcoming episode of "American Experience" about the broadcast, which airs next Tuesday (October 29th) at 9 pm.
You can see a video about my thesis and the UM collections on the "American Experience" website.
A recent article about Brad and the program also ran in the Detroit Free Press.
Brad will take part oin an event hosted by the SAC department to commemorate the actual 75th anniversary of Welles's broadcast on Wednesday, October 30, at 7 pm in MLB 1.
