Gabrielle Hecht's Being Nuclear: Africans and the Global Uranium Trade (MIT Press, 2012) wins ASA and interdisciplinary prizes.
Being Nuclear has been awarded the 2013 Robert K. Merton Book Prize from the American Sociological Association's Science, Knowledge and Technology section.
It has also been awarded the Susanne M. Glasscock Humanities Book Prize for Interdisciplinary Scholarship.
