Vrinda Agrawal's primary area of study is South Asian art and visual culture. Her publications and research examine a spectrum of subjects relating to patronage and collecting, with a focus on early modern Pahari painting. In the past she has been awarded the Tagore National Scholarship for Cultural Research, a fellowship at the Asia Society Museum, New York, and others, for her curatorial work and research. Vrinda assisted eminent author and art historian B. N. Goswamy on the publication Oxford Readings in Indian Art (2018), supported by a fellowship from the Raza Foundation, New Delhi. She has published in edited volumes and journals, including Ars Orientalis (Fall 2024), Artibus Asiae (Vol, 77, no. 2), as well as catalogues of museums and private galleries.
