About
Lina Alam is a PhD Candidate in the History of Art Department. She studies modern and contemporary painting, photography and film, drawing broadly from the insights of Marxism, critical theory, black studies, and social history. Her work has been supported by University of Michigan's Rackham Graduate School and the International Institute.
She completed her BA at American University in 2018. Prior to Michigan, she worked at an art museum and film non-profit in New Orleans, LA.
