Lina Alam is a PhD Candidate in History of Art, specializing in modern and contemporary art. Her dissertation explores contemporary artistic practices that critically engaged with video surveillance cameras and images at the turn of the twenty-first century. More broadly, her research focuses on the intersections between art, moving image, technology, and politics.
Lina's research has been supported by the Freie Universität’s Berlin Program for Advanced German and European Studies, UMich's International Institute, and UMich's German Languages and Literatures Department.
