Genevra (Nessa) Higginson is a doctoral candidate studying early modern European art with a focus on print culture in seventeenth-century Italy and France. Other research interests include the confluence of fine art and natural sciences, collecting histories, and word-image relationships in artistic production and theory. Prior to joining Michigan, Genevra was the Curatorial Assistant for Prints and Drawings at the Blanton Museum of Art, where she managed the Print Study Room and contributed to exhibitions, notably "After Michelangelo, Past Picasso: Leo Steinberg’s Library of Prints," and its accompanying catalogue. Genevra also worked at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston as the Department Coordinator for Prints, Drawings, and Photographs.
