PhD Candidate Kristine Ronan Takes Part in UMMA/UMS collaboration
History of Art PhD candidate Kristine Ronan recently took part in a collaboration between U-M Museum of Art (UMMA) and the University Musical Society (UMS). A team from both institutions created a video where Ronan (as the curator) and Bruce Conforth (School of Music & American Culture, former director of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame) toured portions of the UMMA "Out of the Ordinary: Selections from the Bohlen Wood Art and Fusfeld Folk Art Collections" exhibition to talk about folk art and its connections to some of the music from the then-current UMS season. They had a great conversation about how folk art and roots music are intertwined.
