About
I’m broadly interested in phylogenetic comparative methods and ways that we can improve them. Much of my past research has focused on traditional comparative methods and their applications for trait evolution. The methods I have spent most of my time on have been discrete character Markov models, Ornstein-Uhlenbeck models, and state-dependent speciation and extinction models. However, more recently I have becomine interested in integrating AI techninques (primarily deep learning) with comparative methods in an effort to improve our understanding of phenotypes and phenotypic evolution.
