DAAS Chief Administrator Wayne High received two notable honors recently: The 2023 John Matlock Staff Cornerstone Award at this year's Black Celebratory on April 29, and the 2023 LSA Chief Administrator Peer Award for the Humanities Division at the LSA Staff Awards ceremony on May 18.
The Cornerstone Award was founded in 1999 and was named for Dr. John H. Matlock, who served as Associate Vice Provost in the Office of the Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs while directing the Office of Academic Multicultural Initiatives (OAMI) from 1989-2013. The award recognizes the unique contributions and assistance that the recipients have given to enhance the academic and social progress of African American students at the university.
Four years ago, LSA Chief Administrators set up an award program to recognize one another's accomplishments and the tremendous support they provide to each other within their community. One outstanding recipient is chosen in each division by their peers.
Congratulations, Wayne!
