“Majoring in International Studies was one of the best choices I have ever made. After bouncing around considering a few majors and really struggling to identify a path that utilizes my strengths and passions in a way that allows me to make a positive impact, PICS presented itself as the perfect synthesis. It encompasses so many fundamental areas of study and is truly so applicable that you can take your education anywhere. After being influenced in many ways during my undergraduate journey, including by an internship at Michigan News, I found that the knowledge and skills I had gained at U-M allowed me to communicate well, and I found communications and PR to be a strong and evolving way to share various perspectives and experiences. The values taught through PICS have remained essential to me throughout my professional career and I have continued to explore exciting ways to implement them. Currently, working to inspire individuals and enrich communities by connecting audiences and artists in uncommon and engaging experiences at UMS is work that combines my passions and experiences, as well as continues to allow me to bring my IS background to the table.”
