“My first job after graduating from U of M was as a healthcare consultant. It was everything I thought I wanted at the time, but I couldn't resist the urge to get back to the "international" that PICS inspired in me, as well as the sense of impact that came with it. Over the next year, I worked my way up through the global security industry, spending time at protective services and consulting contractor Gavin de Becker & Associates before arriving at Coinbase, a global cryptocurrency exchange. I now manage the Protective Intelligence team, leading the company's efforts in geopolitical intelligence, operational risk management, and other related areas. To this day, I still appreciate how much my International Studies major and current position align, and can't imagine another area of study more applicable to this field. If any current PICS students or alumni share my intrigue in this type of work, don't hesitate to reach out!”
