“My International Studies major in the Program in International and Comparative Studies (PICS) empowered me with the knowledge, skills, and resources to pursue a Princeton in Africa fellowship, where I spent the last year living and working in eSwatini (formerly Swaziland) in Southern Africa. Here, I was able to directly apply practical global health skills and geographically specific sociocultural knowledge that I gained in my education to my work as the Resource Mobilization Officer at a pediatric and maternal AIDS clinic under Baylor International Pediatric AIDS Initiative.
Without the challenging, well-rounded coursework, and brilliant professors that I had in PICS, I wouldn't have had the skill set to gain the incredible professional foothold that I did on the African continent this year with Princeton in Africa.”
