Our Funding Priorities
This year, Giving Blueday marks the launch of a major initiative aimed at boosting graduate student support by expanding our graduate student funds. Graduate students play a critical role in driving innovative research, imparting knowledge to undergraduates, and fostering a rich academic culture at the university. But declining funding and rising education costs have forced us to accept fewer students, resulting in a 30% drop in graduate student enrollment. To address this challenge, we aim to significantly expand our graduate student gift funds in order to provide more summer funding for graduate students, expand the availability of dissertation grants, and increase the number of non-teaching fellowships, thus allowing students more dedicated time for research. With support from alumni and partners, we are confident that your contributions will make a lasting impact on the lives of our graduate students and the future of our department.
