About
I am interested in the dynamics mass political dissent, organized violence (both political and criminal), and state building processes. Previously, during my undergaduate studies at El Colegio de San Luis, México, I analyzed how press freedom impacts the onset of mass dissent campaigns in autocracies. After that, I worked and studied at the Center for Research and Teaching in Economics (CIDE). There, I did research about why rebel and criminal violence vary both across and within countries. In my master studies, I analyzed under what conditions the use of violence helps dissidents to get concessions from governments.
