Undergraduate Student Conferences

All undergraduate student conferences are available to any Political Science major or minor. Request for applications are sent via email to students in the Fall and Winter terms.

U.S. Naval Academy Foreign Affairs Conference (NAFAC)

The Department of Political Science has received an invitation to the Naval Academy Foreign Affairs Conference. This is an opportunity for the department to send some of our best students to represent the Political Science program at the University of Michigan at the Naval Academy Foreign Affairs Conference in Maryland.

Currently, we can cover airfare, lodging, and conference registration fees for selected student(s).

Midwest Political Science Association (MPSA)

The Midwest Political Science Association (MPSA), founded in 1939, is dedicated to advancing scholarship in all areas of political science.

The purposes of the MPSA are to promote the professional study and teaching of political science, to facilitate communications between those engaged in such study, and to develop standards for and encourage research in theoretical and practical political problems.

The Department of Political Science offers to fund some of our majors and minors to attend MPSA as student presenters if their paper was accepted or to go as an attendee of the conference. This fantastic opportunity gives our students a first-hand look at research and presentations in the field.

Students interested in receiving funding should apply for the department'sĀ Academic Experience Funds below before the April 1st deadline.
