About
Ken is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Political Science at the University of Michigan. His specialization is in comparative politics, with a regional focus on Southeast Asia and the broader Asia-Pacific region. His research revolves around three topics: party institutionalization in emerging democracies, the politics of innovation and development, and contemporary Thai politics.
Prior to his doctoral studies, Ken was a researcher at the Thailand Development Research Institute. He frequently provides media commentary on Thai politics to international outlets, and his analysis has been published in the East Asia Forum, Fulcrum, Asialink, 9DashLine, and the Washington Post, among other outlets. Ken currently co-organizes the Interdisciplinary Workshop on Comparative Politics and the Southeast Asia in Social Science Group.
