Consortium Membership Benefits

1. Opportunity to compete for two consortium-only short-term fellowships at the Newberry:

  • One fellowship for an ABD student
  • One for a faculty member, preference given to non-tenured faculty

2. Opportunity to compete for the Ecole Nationale des Chartes exchange fellowship

3. Guaranteed inclusion of one graduate student presenter in the annual graduate student conference (more included on a competitive basis, as space permits)

4. Admission on a competitive basis to all other programs that have limited enrollment:

  • Dissertation seminar
  • Research methods workshops for early-career graduate students
  • Ten-week graduate seminars

5. Admission to all Center programs open to the public, on a first-come, first-served basis

6. Folger Institute seminar fees waived upon acceptance of application (in accord with Folger Policy and reciprocity agreement)

7. A designated institutional travel fund, which maybe used for travel to the Newberry or the Folger Shakespeare Library, to attend programs or conduct research.
