Julie Evershed is a dedicated leader in language education, advocating for multilingualism and inclusive practices. With over two decades of experience at the University of Michigan’s Language Resource Center (LRC), she offers expertise in administration, program development, educational technology, and copyright in academic settings. Her passion for languages and cultures is matched by her commitment to language access, diversity, equity, and inclusion. Actively involved in community and university initiatives, she has led notable projects such as the University of Michigan LRC Language Bank and the annual Translate-a-thon translation marathon. She is active in several professional organizations like the International Association of Language Learning Technology (IALLT) and the Michigan World Language Association (MIWLA) and the Big Ten Language Alliance.
Julie holds a Master’s in Information and Library Science and a Bachelor’s in French Language and Literature, complemented by international study experiences in Aix-en-Provence, France, and Istanbul, Turkey.
