“Last summer, I had the opportunity to work on Capitol Hill in my Senator's DC office. I took this as an opportunity to broaden my horizons and took lessons from my International Studies major coursework to deepen my knowledge of the political context I was in. As I researched or wrote memos on international issues, ranging from international religious freedoms to international economic developments, I utilized the research, communication, and collaboration skills I had learned during my time in this degree program. This experience was one that significantly shaped my future, and when drawing parallels to my International Studies coursework, I know that both of these experiences have ultimately provided me with the skillset necessary to devote my life solve contemporary global issues and challenges.”
Future plans: “I hope to work at the intersection of immigration and education before attending law school. Thereafter, I want to serve those that feel unseen in our system, while being a catalyst for equitable change through a career in civil and human rights law.”
