Fellowships, Grants, and Internships

The Program in International and Comparative Studies (PICS) provides multiple funding opportunities to support students with PICS-declared major and minors and the wider U-M community. PICS has funding opportunities for study abroad, research, and internships related to human rights, international development, international security and cooperation, global health and environment, and comparative culture and identity.
PICS receives generous support from the Rose Silverman Internship Fund, which supports international internships, and the William Siegel and Margaret Swaine funds, which support Longwoods fellows for student internships and research abroad.

PICS Study Abroad Award: Provides funding to students with a PICS-declared major or minor to support study abroad opportunities.
PICS Summer Research and Internship Grants: Provides funding to students with a PICS-declared major or minor who are doing international internships or research.
Arctic Internship Fellowship: Provides financial support to University of Michigan undergraduate students who are doing internships or research related to the Arctic.
International Human Rights Fellowship: A prestigious internship opportunity at Perseus Strategies in Washington DC for LSA students with a demonstrated interest in and intention to pursue a career in human rights.
