Presented by the Border Collective
Woodcut prints exhibit reception with Artist Daniel Gonzalez at the Whittaker Road Library in Ypsilanti.
Daniel Gonzalez has a unique ability to blur borders between art, community, activism, and academia. He is a printmaker and graphic artist based out of Los Angeles. His work, inspired by personal experience and a history of printmaking in Mexico and by Chicana/os in the U.S., makes parallels between history and current political, social, and cultural moments relevant to lives of Latina/os and Latin Americans. He has a Bachelor in Fine Arts from the School of Arts and Architecture at UCLA and most recently curated and was program coordinator for Self Help Graphics’ 40th Anniversary Día de los Muertos Celebration. His work has been shown in museums and galleries around the U.S., and Canada including the Muckenthaler Art Center in California and the Open Studio Gallery in Toronto, Canada.
The reception is free and open to the public.
Exhibit runs October 26-31
