Perspective on Reproductive Health in Ecuador

Please join LACS, The School of Nursing, and the Quito Project for a public presentation by Cecilia Magdalena Tapia, titled "Perspective on Reproductive Health in Ecuador." Tapia received her midwifery training from the Midwifery program of Medical School at Universidad Central del Ecuador followed by a Master's degree in Education. She has been actively involved in improving the health of Ecuadorian women for more than 30 years. She has coordinated community engagement and community based rotations for students of both midwifery and medicine for many years. She is currently the director of the Master's degree in Sexual and Reproductive health at Universidad Central. She and her students will be collaborating with students and faculty from the University of Michigan to pilot the use of the Home Based Life Saving Skills curriculum in communities in rural Ecuador in the summer of 2013.
