Caring, Protecting, Policing: Unveiling the Rhetorics of the Guardian

The eighteenth annual Charles F. Fraker Conference, presented by the Fraker Conference Organizing Committee and LACS.

In this conference we will examine the dynamic of power within custodianship, and the complexities of the relation between protector and protected. Keynote speakers will be Alberto Moreiras, professor of Hispanic Studies at Texas A&M University, and Jacques Lezra, professor of Spanish and Portuguese and Comparative literature at New York University. Lezra will speak on Thursday, Feb. 9, at 6:00p.m., and Moreiras on Friday, Feb. 10, at 6:00p.m. A Friday workshop with both keynote speakers will be held at 9:00a.m. in the Assembly Hall of the Rackham Graduate School (registration is required).
