About
Rosa Razmi is the Academic Programming Specialist for the Center for Emerging Democracies. She coordinates the programming and events for the center, while also interacting with postdoctoral fellows, affiliated faculty, and students who engage with @umichDemocracy.
She is a recent alumna from the University of Michigan and graduated from the Masters in International and Regional Studies (MIRS) program in 2024 with a specialization in Middle Eastern and North African Studies.
During her time in the MIRS program, Rosa focused on the experiences of mothers and daughters within the Iranian diaspora. Her work earned her the Mahfoud Bennoune Memorial Thesis Award. Rosa’s other research projects have explored Post-Revolutionary Iran, public activism, and maternal health. She continues this work by studying the women of the Iranian diaspora, along with issues such as citizenship, women’s rights, and migration.
