She has a bachelor's degree in applied statistics from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines in Manila, Philippines, a graphic design certificate in digital media arts and design from Orange Coast College in California, and a master's Degree in educational studies specializing in new media and new literacies (now design and technologies for learning across culture and contexts) from the University of Michigan School of Education, Ann Arbor.
