Fabio Da Cunha

Fabio Da Cunha, known as Mestre Lobinho, began capoeira in 1998 in São Paulo, at the age of eight. Lobinho embraced capoeira as his professional career and life path. In 2019, he received his first Capoeira Mestre (Master) title. He founded the Brazilian Michigan Cultural Center.

Lobinho is a lecturer at the Department of Dance. He presents capoeira as a symbiotic relationship between music, movement, and martial arts. He embraces the idea of a common grammar where these can be expressed in unison as a whole.

With this teaching approach, Lobinho has participated in capoeira conferences and has been invited to teach at institutions such as Ohio State University and events like the ACDA Regional Conference in 2023 and 2024.
