About
John pursued his undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan where he graduated with a double major in Physics and Asian Studies (sub-major in Buddhist Studies). His research interests are primarily in early medieval Chinese Buddhism and its syncretism of various Indian schools of thought. One such example is the systemization of the Bodhisattva Precepts and the Bodhisattva Path in Chinese Buddhist Apocrypha. His curiosity in physics has also encouraged him to investigate the manners in which the philosophies of physics and Buddhism (especially in China) intersect and thus uncover similarities in the ways we attempt to reconcile with ontological dilemmas in the past and the present.
