About
Janelle Fosler serves as the Fellowships and Grants Coordinator at the International Institute, where she leads the daily operations of the Fellowships & Grants team. The Fellowships & Grants team oversees programs such as Fulbright, Boren, Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS), as well as a range of high-profile U-M funding opportunities.
With over a decade of experience in international education across higher education and non-profit sectors, Janelle has held roles at the Council on International Education (CIEE); International House Ann Arbor; the U-M Center for South Asian Studies; and Eastern Michigan University Academic Programs Abroad. Janelle holds a Master’s degree in Higher Education Student Affairs, with a focus on international education, and a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education in Social Studies and History.
Janelle’s own study-abroad experience profoundly shaped her life, sparking a passion for supporting transformative educational opportunities abroad. To date, she has studied, worked, and traveled in more than 30 countries.
